The best things money can buy

I've indulged in a number of hot new gifts for myself in the past few days so here's a run down:

Scot and I went to the mall on Thursday and I had to buy this shirt from Aeropostale because it was only $9. Maybe one day it will be warm here again so that I can actually wear it.

My room has been Wallflower-less since November so I finally rectified the situation on Thursday with this tantalizing cherry blossom treat. Seriously, my room has never smelled so good.

I caved on Friday and decided to buy the cake decorating book from the bookstore. I was prepared to dig deep into my pocketbook to pay the $15 for the half-priced "how-to" when the cashier said, "That'll be $8.50." Apparently $15 was the original price and I just got a cookbook, 5 decorating tips, 5 icing bags, 1 spatula, and 1 fondant smoother for $8.

Punctuation is my nemesis so I wanted to buy Eats, Shoots, and Leaves to gain the necessary tools to combat my syntactical saboteur, but when I looked at Barnes and Noble it was a ghastly $13 so I decided to hold off. Well, it just so happens that our Waldens bookstore is going out of business so I hurried in, crossed my fingers, and scanned the reference section and I found Eats, Shoots, and Leaves for 40% off!

Some other great things that money can't buy:
- Jane Austen and I almost have the same birthday! She is 211 years and 3 days older than me. Awesome!
- I watched Sense and Sensibility on Saturday and was reminded of just how much I love Alan Rickman!
- While I'm on the subject of "older" actors I might mention that I also love Diane Keaton. They just don't make 'em like the used to in Hollywood (I'm looking at you Drew Barrymore, Sienna Miller, Jessica Simpson, Cameron Diaz, et. al.) I'm also geriatric.
