Childhood and the traveling pants

I got up this morning to ready myself for another creative writing class only to discover that the only two pairs of jeans that I ever wear were wadded up on the floor and too dirty don. I had one other option - those jeans that I'd shoved to the outer-realm of my closet. Those jeans that my mom (who was half my size at the beginning of my weight loss extravaganza) had loaned me for a mythical time when I just couldn't wear my current (bigger) size any more. Reluctantly, I took those jeans off of their hanger, held my breath, and pulled them up. And they fit! There's a good chance that I will never take them off for fear that I won't be able to get them back on next time, so everyone will get to know these hand-me-down jeans really well.

My creative writing class was really enjoyable today, by the way. I even contributed to a discussion, which is completely out of character and thus totally awesome. I have to write a descriptive short story about someone from my childhood from a child's perspective and I was so excited about the assignment that I called my mom about it immediately. I have the perfect "colorful" someone in mind too!

When I was an ENDS major my professors would make generalizations about design majors that I never thought applied to me. My creative writing teacher made a generalization about ENGL majors today and I knew that she was talking about me. Love it!
