There's nothing like the smell of drafting tape in the morning

Selective amnesia is a funny thing; I've found that I'm nostolgic for some very unpleasant things. Examples: First semester freshman year was mostly odious projects and all-nighters, but it was hands-down my favorite semester so far. Environmental Design was definitely not for me and English is so much more my style, but I still miss ENDS like crazy sometimes. My Christmas break was supposed to suck because I was going to have to spend it in the hospital with my dad, but I have nothing but fond memories of that experience. It's the dull, eventless times that have no duration whatever, I suppose. Word, John Steinbeck.

If stress is enough to sabatoge even the most resolute dieter, I'm on the fast-track to the fat farm. 4/17 - First-person short story due (good thing mine's already decent), Professional Writing Certificate meeting. 4/18 - Registration for Fall 2007. 4/19 - Group workshop of preferred short story (that means I have to edit my best short story for peer review). 4/20 - Sociology exam 3, Sociology paper due, Linguistics quizzam 4, Spanish quiz 5. 4/23 - Conversational Spanish evaluation. 4/26 - Creative Writing portfolio due (that means my preferred short story has to be darn near publishable). 4/30 - Spanish Final Exam. Man, I need a cheeseburger, preferably in paradise (or at least as far away from the Station as I can get).

Some other things worth noting:
- I bought Foiled on Monday. It was marked $12.99 so imagine my surprise when the checker asked for $8.64. Thanks, Hastings, it's pretty much worth $12.99 though. You Make Me Smile, She's My Ride Home, What If We Could, Into the Ocean, Hate Me, Congratulations, Overweight, X Amount of Words...seriously? Genius. Maybe the song It's Just Me cost Blue October $4.35? I'm just speculating here, but it really sucks. Good thing it's a "hidden" track.
- My stupid fish doesn't eat. This worries me, but it makes traveling so much easier - I just throw some food in his bowl on Friday and it's bound to still be there on Tuesday.
