1) I discovered a whole fantastic genre of music this year after I attached myself to a fiendishly attractive music snob, but Death Cab for Cutie and Keane top the list.

Death Cab's Narrow Stairs was probably my top album of 2008 - I got it over the summer and it's still on rotation today.

2) The absolute best movie I saw this year was The Green Mile. I was awash in my own tears for thirty minutes after it ended.

My favorite new show is one that others have been crazy about forever, but that I only recently discovered: The Office.

3) This question required absolutely zero thought. Read The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. It'll rock your world.
