Wednesday Media Mix: 1/14

I realize that many a day has passed since the 14th, but that particular Wednesday consisted of working, packing, and travelling to Waco for the funeral, so the meme was the last thing on my mind. Nevertheless, I enjoy filling it out so much that I'm going to do it now:

Listen: What are your favorite songs about places, or that have a place in the name?

Carolina by Ben Gibbard (the lead singer of Death Cab) is a fantastic song from Sean's collection. New York New York by Frank Sinatra makes the list too because no other place that I've visited is more awesome than NYC. And Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett of course! I'll concede that it's not a real place, but I dare to dream.

Watch: Any particular shows you’re looking forward to seeing this season?

My parents are fans of The Biggest Loser so I started watching it with them over Christmas break. I cry during nearly every episode. I'm also excited to finally watch Lost as it airs, rather than on DVD.

Read: What are your thoughts on Amazon Kindle (the electronic book reader)? Do you love this sort of invention, or would you rather have a physical book in your hands?

It's a neat idea and it'd be a great alternative to textbooks (oh my lawd, I'm going to lose my job!) but reading a physical book is incredibly satisfying and nostalgic and I'd never be able to give it up. Besides, novels are conversation pieces - throw out the bad ones and put the good ones on the shelf next to the DVD collection.
