I guess it's the fragrance of the beef braising in Malbec that's driving me to post about delicious vino. So since I'm not a huge red wine fan, here's a list of the white wine you should be drinking (ranked from favorite to least, although "least" is really relative):
Gewurztraminer - Even though it's German and impossible to pronounce (I usually say geh-vur#&!%$ah-MEENER!), this one is sweet with a slight bite at the end. Favorite!
Riesling - Tastes a lot like Gewurztraminer, but without the bite or the difficult-to-pronounce name. I have to admit that as good as Messina Hof's version is, Loosen Bros. is ever so much better.
Muscat Cannelli - This one's sweet (shocking!), but less so than the two listed above. It tastes more floral than the others as well.
Port - This wine is technically red, but it's meant to be served with dessert, so it's like drinking a bottle of thick sweet grape juice (except with a higher alcohol content than any of the others I've named). It's really good, but it's definitely not for dinner or lightweights.
White Zinfandel - I've only tried a sip of this one (Sean ordered it on our first anniversary date and SURPRISE, it's actually pink) so I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, other than tasty and the least sweet of them all.
Go forth and imbibe (responsibly)!
