Summer style revisited

Hey, blog-o-sphere! Remember when I asked for swimsuit advice before my 4th of July trip to the lake? And remember when you gave it to me? That was awesome! I took all of your suggestions into consideration when I went shopping the next day and I discovered the following hard truths:
  • I look TERRIBLE in mono-kinis. Like, seriously gross, and
  • Macys does not actually stock any of the cute one-pieces that they have on their website. (At least not in the middle of summer when they're clearing out the swimsuit section to make room for winter coats.)
After two hours of shopping and zero hours of luck, I was thisclose to giving up, but then all of a sudden I found the perfect swimsuit and my heart exploded with happiness. It was modest but still cute and young-looking. It was reminiscent of the adorable selection of suits on pinupgirlclothing.com, but with the convenience of instant gratification. And best of all, it was half-price.

It weighs about fifteen pounds when it's dry, which means there's plenty of material to both hold everything in and cover up any unsightly bulges. And since I wasn't worried about hiding my tummy behind my crossed arms all day, I was able to use them for more important applications like eating chips and quaffing margaritas. Happy Independence Day indeed!
