Wanted wanted bought bought

Since receiving my job offer a couple of weeks ago, clothes shopping has finally started to feel like a necessity and a right rather than an indulgence. After all, it's the first time since graduation that I've needed more than four outfits to wear out of the house. It's also the first time since birth that I've been able to walk through a store, know what I like, and allow myself to purchase it. (The fact that the clothes I'm trying on finally fit me properly might have something to do with my sudden eagerness to spend as well. Maybe. I dunno. Your guess is as good as mine. Boooooobs.)

So unaccustomed am I to buying clothes en mass, however, that after my marathon shopping trip last week, which resulted in three dresses, three tops, two pairs of shoes, one necklace, and five vessels for my bountiful decolletage (hooray!), I was sure my credit card company was going to call in a panic. (They haven't yet, but if a %$&@ dollar surgery fee and a #$!# dollar shopping bill weren't suspicious enough, *$#& worth of charges in NYC next week might just be the tipping point.)

Now, for your viewing pleasure, I've put together a little something to illustrate what an abominable spendthrift I'm becoming:

From top left: The first time I saw this dress it was out of stock. The second time I saw this dress it was available, but I hesitated because I was unsure of what size to order. The third time I saw this dress (about 20 minutes ago) it was out of stock again. Somebody needs to put her game face on. (ModCloth)

I wasn't so reckless with this frock: I saw it in a catalog, I figured out my size, I ordered it. This might be is probably because it's about $20 cheaper than the ModCloth dress. (Venus)

Oh shiny red shoes that-are-almost-of-flats-but-not-quite, how I covet thee! I just need someone to convince me that these lovelies (or any shoes for that matter) are worth $112. Anyone? Please? No? Didn't think so. (Zappos)

Now $29.99 is more like it! These shoes look silver in this picture, but real life they are taupe and very very tall. I've had mixed luck with Target shoes so I'm anxious to see if these work out. I'm also anxious to see how long it takes for me to topple out of them. (Target)

an explanation for the barrage of comments lately: the semester is over and i don't start my job until next week. all my friends are in summer school and my boyfriend works the night shift, so all i do is stalk blogs and read perezhilton for the time being.

and sarah, while those shoes are cute, they are NOT worth 112 dollars!! are you crazy!? have you ever heard of ebay you silly bean? i buy everything on there and i have soo much designer and name brand stuff that i paid a fraction of the price for. NEVER pay retail!!!!!

No explanation needed--I enjoy the comments. And I, too, stalk blogs (and Twitter and Facebook, ugh) all day and I don't even have the boredom excuse! (That's a lie actually--I do those things when I get bored of work, which is often and very very bad.)

I was actually thisclose to checking for those shoes on eBay, but then I worried that they wouldn't fit right or wouldn't look as nice in person and then would I be stuck? (This is the case every time I consider an eBay purchase.) Buuuut, what if I could try them on at Nordstrom and then shop eBay!? That might be a perfect solution.
