Freelance!

When it comes to grammar, I'm the kind of fan who paints herself Team Grammar's colors, drinks too much beer, and ends up heckling so many opposing fans that someone eventually dumps nachos into her lap. So, not surprisingly, I love it when I get requests like the following, "Will you look over my paper/application/cover letter and make sure everything sounds ok?"

More recently, I've been getting different requests along the lines of, "Would you be able to decorate a cake for my friend's birthday/cousin's baby shower/sister's wedding?" The first time someone asked me that my immediate response was "no freaking way, cakes are just something I do for fun." Since that that time though, I've accepted one unpaid job (for my mom) and two paid jobs that are both due within a month. I figure I should spend the weeks leading up to graduation exercising my piping hands and building a portfolio, because even when stocks are plummeting, people still like buttercream.

Yay! I'm glad I have been able to make you happy on both accounts :-) I ask you to look over my letters and asked you to make a cake for Lauren's shower! And you did amazing jobs at all of those!!

Btw I think it is completely awesome that you have so many options for when you graduate. I know it's scary sometimes to have that many options because you have to choose one, but remember that you can always change your career to make you happy! I can't to hear all about your trip! :-)
