I'm writing this post tonight with only a phantom fear that my laptop is going to explode in my face. Why, you ask? Well, because the Easter bunny brought me a brand new 6.5 pound HP Pavilion notebook this morning, that's why. He came a day early because he was just so excited to finally give me a laptop that doesn't suck. He also just gave his old laptop to my brother because he thinks he's going to be able to use my old one. What an idealist that bunny is.
I think I've moved everything from the old laptop to the new one, and let me tell you, "everything" was not very much at all. A couple of pictures, a handful of "My Documents", and a bit of music and the computer really is personal again. Thank you, HP. I'll buy Microsoft Office from the school, load The Sims when I get back to the Station, and pick up Photoshop when I go home next weekend (assuming I last that long without Photoshop) and then I'll really be in business. Boy oh boy it's a good thing the Easter bunny found a computer with 160MB of space because I'm a heavy user.
In other news, I'm sitting by a window in my grandma's house freezing my butt off because there's a blanket of snow on the ground outside and somebody didn't pack long sleeves. How silly of me to check the weather report on Thursday and assume that I'd be comfortable in short sleeves and a peacoat. Since when does it snow in Texas for 8 hours straight in April? The answer you're looking for here is "not since 1992".
It was in the 60s yesterday, today it snowed (and so we're clear: it was Yankee snow, not Texan "snow"), and by Wednesday it will be in the 70s again. No wonder so many people live in this state! It's like a box of chocolates, as they say.
