Checking in to say "oy!"

Some things I've discovered during the first week of my senior year of college:

• African-born Spanish profs who speak Italian, French, and heavily-accented English are the most badass Spanish profs.
• Taking two writing-intensive literature courses in one semester is probably not a great idea.
• Dropping one class and adding a new one during add/drop week isn't nearly as intimidating as it seems.
• English professors ought to consider their humanities-minded audience before making their course requirements overly complex.
• Technical editing really will be as bad as everyone says. And the prof will probably be worse.
• Dr. Clark is just as wacky and awesome this fall as he was last fall.
• My job is the only part of my schedule that doesn't completely suck this semester. Cruelly, it is also the most expendable part.
• There's no way in hell I'm going to grad school next August.
