Chicken-fried soy protein

I've decided to become a sometime-vegetarian. Some may recall that I tried this last year and gave up after two weeks, but I implore you to remember that last year I weighed 35lbs more than I do now, so I'd hope that that speaks volumes about my changing willpower. I say that I will be a "sometime" vegetarian because I don't want to restrict myself to never eating meat again. If I go out to dinner and meat happens to be the least-caloric thing on the menu I will happily order it. I have no qualms about being a "sometime" vegetarian because I am not giving up meat products out of sympathy towards the chickens and the cows (I threw away both of the "Why Be Vegan?" pamphlets that I got on campus a couple of weeks ago without giving them a second look). Au contraire, I find chickens and cows to be mighty tasty, they are just too expensive and fattening for me to consume on a regular basis. All of this mostly boils down to a need to shake up my diet a little bit - not only am I cutting out meat, I've also decided to banish most processed foods from my pantry as well. And to prove just how full of dietary determination I am I've decided to buy tofu when I go to the grocery store tomorrow.

If you enjoyed my post on "how to tell if your roommate is a procrastinator" you might enjoy the similarly-themed essay (below) that I wrote for my creative writing class. I've been meaning to post more creative writing assignments, I just haven't written any that I've really cared for (until now). From now on, if a post has "CW" in the subject line you will know that it is something that I originally wrote for creative writing class. Let the education begin!
